Currently on view at the gallery in the bookstore are new prints by Alyssa Eckert.
Alyssa Eckert was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. As a child, her parents encouraged her artistic expression with plenty of paper, markers, and creative medium. In 2006, Alyssa trained at the Art Institute of Chicago and studied printmaking at Parsons New School and the School of Visual Arts in NYC (2008-2009). Learning the process of etching and engraving influenced her eye for detail, using pointillism to create texture and depth in her work. Alyssa was drawn by the dramatic landscape of the Columbia River Gorge and a quiet community in Eastern Washington where she now resides. She focuses on work inspired by her relationships with plants, animals and the ecology that surround her home.
