About Us:

Arundel Books was founded in 1984 as a fine press publisher specializing in art and poetry; three years later, we began selling rare and out-of print books.

Over the years we have changed a great deal, and now operates a retail bookstore in Seattle, an affiliated Indie publishing company called Chatwin Books, and a book printing and binding operation including both digital printing and our own vintage letterpress printing press.

Our store and press has an independent mindset, and a select, diverse stock that is constantly changing and growing. Our goal is to reflect and enhance the community in which we live and work.

Our Seattle location is located in historic Pioneer Square, and has an eclectic stock that will satisfy both the avid reader and discriminating collector. Our goal is to pique your interest.

Internet Bookstore:

In addition to the books displayed on the shelves of our retail store (which you can also see on this website), we have thousands of additional titles available for sale from our internet bookstore. Please feel free to browse our collection online. No matter where you order from, we can assure you that your order will be handled promptly and professionally, and that we pack and ship every order with care.

We love welcoming visitors from around the world!

We are located in the heart of Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square neighborhood–a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Seattle. Our interior features one of the best preserved historic interiors of any building in Seattle. Our location was built in 1900 for the Capitol Brewing and Malting Company (which later became the Olympia Brewing Company). We love welcoming visitors from all over the world. When you pop by, look for the vaulted ceilings and the bas-relief clipper ship... and great books too!
