The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception, or Mystic Christianity, an Elementary Treatise Upon Man's Past Evolution, Present Constitution and Future Development
The Rosicrucian Fellowship, 1929. Hardcover. Very Good. Item #667626
GREAT PROVENANCE. A very good copy of the 1929 11th edition in original green pictorial cloth decorated in gilt, red, and black (minor wear; spine lettering flaking). With the bookplate of George Boston (1905–1975) , known as 'Merlin the Man of 1000 Mysteries'. Boston was a well-known American magician, mentalist and author of works on magic (including co-authoring 'Inside Magic'), known for stage managing for Harry Blackstone, Sr., Charles Carter, Howard Thurston, and others, and serving as magical technical consultant for the 1953 biopic 'Houdini', starring Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. His book collection was notable, and his green printed bookplate features a striking headshot photograph of Merlin in a turban.
