A very good copy in full period brown panelled calf; expertly rebacked in brown calf, black morocco label and raised bands (boards rubbed; lacks the engraved frontispiece portrait, some browning and wear to text margins; offset from turn-ins at front and rear). The title vignette and 2 folding tables are present. PROVENANCE: 'John Edwards on rear endpaper (appears 18th-century); bold but (to us) illegible signature on title dated 1855; signature of E.L. Dana on pastedown dated 1858; engraved armorial bookplate of Charles E. Dana on pastedown.
