This scarce tiny (2.5 x 4 inches) early American printing of this children's title is beautifully bound in full black calf of the period, spine with raised bands and gilt floral tooling, covers bordered with a thick gilt rule, central panel composed of two decorative rules in blind enclosing a single gilt fillet, with tiny gilt floral devices at corners, gilt tooled inner dentelles, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers (minor wear). PROVENANCE: Inscribed on first blank: 'J.B. Nichols, Bost. Preented by the Rev. Thomas Williams 1809.' iv, [1], 6-123, 5 pages. An allegory. 'The design of this little book is to impress the minds of young people with the importance of time and eternity, and to exhibit the close connexion that there is betwixt them. ...
