5 of Tonson's scarce 1734 individual plays, bound in one volume, each work including the engraved frontispiece. Full 18th-century brown calf, spine with raised bands (rubbed, foot of spine chipped; some marginal wear to text with some smudging and browning; 4 small mounting corners on front endpaper). With the bookplate of George Alfred Palmer; there is a also period ink gift inscription (partially defaced) on the recto of the frontis of Titus Andronicus with a small drawings, other drawings in the same hand appear on the endpaper and a couple other places in the text. On the verso of the last leaf of Titus Andronicus appears the printed letter of W. Chetwood, prompter at the Theatre Royal in Drury-Lane, attacking the Walker edition of Shakespeare's plays.
