4pp + sixteen plates, with tissue-guards. Pictorially patterned paper over thin boards, rather fragile; most of the spine has chipped away, and is now glued; with a printed paper title pasted on the front cover; contents & plates clean and free from any defects; a Very Good copy. See HOWES C576, SABIN 6842. // Affixed to the front pastedown endpaper is the following notice, printed in both English & French: 'The cover of this album has been designed by Guy Arnoux and produced at the << Patria >> colour-printing works by wounded soldiers of France. // This work originally published in France in 1783 under the title 'Recueil d'estampes representant les différents évènements de la guerre qui a procure l'indépendence aux États-Unis de l'Amerique'- a collection of sixteen etchings and engravings, when read together provides 'a succinct but very accurate narrative of the principal events of the American Revolution and the campaign of the Allies.' Quite an interesting and important book in the original edition - this reprint is nearly as scarce, and attractive in its own right.
