This copy has great PROVENANCE: Taped down on front pastedown is a small card presenting this book as a gift to a prominent mountaineer, signed by four other great mountaineers of the era. Inscribed to Mr. and Mrs Burge Bickford (Burge was onetime President of the Mountaineers: 'To the Bickfords - Merry Christmas and many thanks, the Christmas Cascade Caper Jack Weicker, Bob Brooke, Jack Maling, Bill Buckingham'. All the signatories are promineent climbers of their era, with Buckingham alone credited with no less than four first ascents.
