Slight rubbing and browning to covers (cloth; chiefly at edges); previous owner's pencil annotations throughout (generally unaffecting text); slight internal browning to edges. pages (unpaginated). Text of the 1887 Kabuki adaptation of the Noh play (generally transliterated as "Momijigari Kuse", and rendered in English as "Autumn Leaves Viewing" or "The Maple Viewing"), written in the Latin alphabet (romaji) transcription; followed by 2 more sections: "Hagoromo Kiri" and "Turukame Kiri". Each section has own diagrams (indicating both costuming and traditional stage blocking); with few blank leaves at rear. Unknown transcriber's holograph; date is conjectural (no date indicated in book; most probably post-WWII). Bound in green patterned cloth, with upper cover gilt paper label, brown silk ties at spine. Unusual and rare transcript, in a traditional Japanese format.
