Bound in publishers's polished brown calf over dark green cloth boards, gilt coat of arms on front covers, spines with gilt titling and gilt-ruled compartments (slight wear along edges of covers, some corners slightly bumped, minor rubbing to spines on two volumes). Macaulay (1800-1859), English author, essayist, historian and statesman. Macaulay's essays are a model of English prose, and offer incisive commentary upon diverse themes.
