A nice, tight copy internally, apart from external appearances. Sold 'as is'. Locker-Lampson (1821-95), English poet and civil servant, generally known as 'Frederick Locker', son of English hospital commissioner Edward Hawke Locker; clerk in Somerset House (1841) and the Admiralty (1842), noted for his own 'London Lyrics' (originally published in 1867; revised through 1893) and various anthologies; appended 'Lampson' to name in 1885 (from the maiden name of his second wife); compiled and published a catalogue of his library at Rowfant (1886).1 Engraved Illustration / Plate (frontispiece portrait); Title Page (red/black).
