Slight wear to spine and covers (chiefly to extremities); slight rubbing and browning to covers (chiefly to edges); slight bumping to corners; spine and upper cover detached, with lower inner hinge over halfway started; ex-library markings (rubberstamp to rear free endpaper); tear to blank at rear (midsection); slight loosening and/or detaching of signatures (chiefly to preliminaries, at spine edges); slight internal browning and/or foxing (chiefly to preliminaries and edges; generally unaffecting plates). [4], 251 pages + plates. Title on spine: Doctor Prosody's Tour; additional title page imprints: Edinburgh: Bell and Bradfute, and W. Blackwood; Glasgow: W. Turnbull. 40 'chapters' of humorous verses in the style of Combe's 'Doctor Syntax' tours, with an additional Caledonian twist; plus equally humorous 'notes' at rear. Particularly noteworthy for the state of the color plates (in the style of Rowlandson's 'Doctor Syntax' illustrations; all 20 present, in fairly bright condition overall). Halkett & Laing VI, 67; not located among Combe's titles in BMC (author's name not given on title page). Bound in full olive-green morocco, gilt-stamped and decorated spine with partly raised bands, covers ruled and decorated in gilt, gilt inner dentelles, brown endpapers, t.e.g., all edges trimmed.
