Correspondence relating to various land claims in the New Orleans area; dated December 31, 1827 ("Referred to the Committee on Private Land Claims"; upper wrapper). Notable for the 3 folding plates (including the "Plan de la Nouvelle Orleans", with French text, and the "Plan of the front part of the City of New Orleans in 1818"; the latter in 2 views); all plates in somewhat better-preserved condition that the text part (still with a few irregular creases and folds, but with minimal browning and/or foxing). Rare in any condition.
