Los Angeles: Arundel Press, 1991. Holter, Eric (illustrator); 8 Woodcut illustrations; Decorative Title Page Engraved Illustration (brown/white). First Edition. Paperback. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Near Fine. Item #L056796
Slight rubbing to the portfolio, with a small bump to the lower right corner (affecting the first two leaves, but none of the prints) Overall a near fine copy. Illustrations of the major characters in the famed allegorical short novel (Napoleon, Old Major, Snowball, etc; not to mention Mr. Jones), devised by the Rhode Island-based artist, in which his studies with Barry Moser are most apparent; signed, numbered and titled in pencil by Holter on each leaf in lower margin. Includes artist's statement (on separate leaf), plus title and colophon. One of 26 copies (the entire edition; this is number 4), with engravings printed on English made Bassingwerk paper and handset text (in Van Dijck typefaces); also signed and numbered in pencil by Holter on colophon. A truly outstanding set of illustrations (all suitable for framing individually) from a truly impressive young artist.
