Letter to one 'Mr. Clark' (perhaps fellow English poet Thomas Clark), on Oast House letterhead: 'Thank you for the copy of your collection of poems, which I hope to comment on when next I write a survey of current verse ... Certainly your muse has a sardonic gleam in her eye!' Church also mentions a possible mutual friend, one Tristram Beresford: '... son of J.D. Beresford, the novelist?' Slight creases to midsection; slight browning to edges. Church (1893-1972), English author, originally a poet, but better known for his novels, criticism and for several children's books.
