Hitchcock & Stafford, 1843. First Edition. Hardcover. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Very Good / No Jacket. Item #L045209
180 pages + plate. Spine title: Ives' Poems : Chips from the Work Shop; engraved title: Parnassus, The Outlaw's Dream and Other Poems. Notable collection of verses (27 in all) by the Connecticut poet, a resident of New Haven and student at Yale College (as it was then called); whether related to the more famous bearer of his name is still in doubt (though the composer would not have been likely to have been inspired by many of the poems in themselves). Slight sunning to spine; slight rubbing to covers; general internal browning and/or foxing throughout; else a very serviceable copy. Provenance: From the private library of noted German-American collector Joseph A. Sadony, with his blindstamp on title page.Engraved Title Page.
