Housed in a beautiful full custom binding of full black crushed Levant morocco, spine with raised bands and elaborate gilt floral tooling within compartments bordered with triple gilt fillets, covers with a wide gilt border formed by no less than 8 fillets and rules, with elaborate double foral devices at corners, extra-wide gilt-tooled inner dentelles surrounding red morocco doublures, silk moire endpapers, top edge gilt, other edges uncut (expertly rebacked preserving original spine, last 80 pages of text have some dampstaining). The binder of this stunning binding is unidentified, but it appears to be of the period. 318 pages. Illustrated by B&W illustrations.
