This extremely rare pamphlet (Worldcat records only a single surviving copy) is in remarkable condition in the original silver printed wraps, complete with original unprinted spiderweb-textured glassine jacket (glassine darkened with chipping to edges; ink stamp on endpaper). Notes: 'Founded by Blessed Frances Xavier Cabrini.' Description: 1 booklet, 31 pages : illustrations, portraits ; 24 cm Other Titles: Silver Jubiliee 1916-1941. 'The Roman Catholic Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart ran Columbus Hospital on Seattle's First Hill, at Tenth Avenue and Madison Street. The hospital was opened as the Columbus Sanatorium in 1916 by Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini. Columbus Hospital became St. Francis X. Cabrini Hospital in the late 1950s and closed in 1990. Until the late 1960s, the sisters ran a nursing school as part of the hospital program.' (Museum of HIstory and Industry / MOHAI).
