Look at All Those Roses: Short Stories By Elizabeth Bowen
Alfred A . Knopf, 1949. First Edition. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" / Very Good. Item #005505331
Signed by Elizabeth Bowen on front endpaper. First American Edition, Second Printing, 1949. A near fine copy in a very good copy of the original jacket (jacket has minor nicks and wear). PROVENANCE: From the library of author and Professor Sam Sebesta, with his signature and date of 1951 on endpaper. Beneath that are nine lines in Sebesta's hand in very light pencil that begin 'From Miss Bowen... complete concentration neccessary no reward can be counted on / first comes the vision, flashing pictures, then the idea.', This appears to transcribe from one of Bowen's conversations, lectures, works, or letters, mentioning Carson McCullers and Truman Capote. Could be erased, but quite interesting.
