Exceptionally rare accordion-fold photography work documents the highlights of Yellow Stone [Yellowstone] Park shortly after its creation (Worldcat lists the date as [188?], and records only three surviving copies], sometime in the 1880s. Original tan wraps printed in brown and black (lacks rear cover, nicking and wear to edges of front cover; the five photographic plates are folded to form 10 pages, the accordion is intact (and can be viewed as a single large spread, but the folds are fragile). Printed in Germany for the Tuscarora Advertising Company of Coshocton, Ohio (founded 1887), this rare photographic work was issued as an advertising piece over a number of years. Originally the covers were only printed in a single color, with the black advertising text being added as sponsors were found. This copy bears the imprint of 'Jefferson Shoes, made by the Copeland & Ryder Co. Jefferson, Wisconisn', and was issued in or after 1893 (as the copy noted the shoes received the 'Highest Award' at the World's Columbian Exhibition. Notes: 5 Folded Leaves of Photographs.
