A SUPERB AND UNIQUE COPY: This was Reps' last copy of the book, marked up by him for a proposed new edition. It was sent by Reps with proposed revisions (including a new dedication and title change to 'Names! Names! Names!') to his publisher John Weatherhill in Tokyo in 1972. Inserted at front is Reps' letter proposing the new edition, and outlining additions and changes, typed with Reps' holograph ink corrections. A second leaf, also typed with correction, provides Reps' (new) address to the Reader, and is boldly signed 'Reps' at end. The text of the book includes one major excision. The book itself is additionally signed by Reps at front. To this day, this unique copy stands as Reps' preferred definitive text for any reissue of this book. Laid in loose is Weatherhill's non-acceptance, noting that it differed from their existing series of his work. Original black wrapsd, paper labels (tears and chips with wear). Printed by the Ward Ritchie Press.
