This Connecticut-born Yankee transplanted to California in 1973 and began the difficult work of obtaining degrees from both UCSD and UCLA in Spanish literature and Library science. Along with his linguistic knowledge of Latin, Italian, Spanish, French, German, and Russian, it is needless to say that Art has become indispensable to us as a cataloger, historical adviser, and an authority on all matters pertaining to James Joyce.
